Undeniable Facts from Genesis
Introduction

Marriage is a divine institution because it is an invention of God. And yet, most people do not take it seriously. Even when they say their vows, “until death do us part”, it ends up being only a few months to a few years before they get a divorce and move on to their next spouse.
Although it is considered a divine institution, there are those who don’t care what God says or what was created from the beginning. There is where same sex marriage becomes a “normal” event and those of the conservative belief are shunned stating it isn’t modern anymore.
Legalization of Same-Sex Marriage
Near the end of June, 2015 same-sex marriage became legal in all 50 of the United States. The supreme court ruled in a favor banned all individual state laws in a 5-4 decision. Not exactly a landslide victory but, unfortunately, a victory nonetheless.
But this idea was never God’s intention. The bible shows the undeniable truth about marriage.
In the Garden of Eden
In chapter 2, it goes into further detail of the creation of the first man and woman. Adam was created first and was placed in the garden to tend it. And, as Adam named all the creatures, God realized that there wasn’t an individual comparable to him (vs. 15-20). Since all of the male animals had a female partner, God decided to make one for man.
Beginning in verse 21, And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:21-24)
This is one of the simplest scenes in all of the bible but, for most, it’s not enough. It even goes on to say, in Gen. 3:20, that Adam named his wife, Eve. This is why same-sex marriage is condemned; it’s Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve or Anna and Eve.

But Jesus never said anything.
Then the argument, at this point, have people saying that Jesus never once mentioned same-sex marriage being condemned or wrong. The fact of the matter is that He doesn’t have to say anything. When one direct command is given, it excludes the rest.
For example, when God told Noah to build an ark out of gopherwood (Gen. 6:14), this excludes all other types of wood. He didn’t have to tell him what types not to use as God excluded all others simply by saying to use gopherwood.
Just as God stated in Gen. 2:24, Jesus states it exactly the same way in Mt. 19:4-5, And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?” (Matthew 19:4-5)
By that this statement, Jesus excludes all other types of marriage. Even the apostle Paul confirms this statement in Ephesians 5:31.
Conclusion
Neither God nor Jesus had to announce that they condemn same-sex marriage. They condemn it on the simple fact that it is one man and one woman for life. This direct command excludes all other types of marriages.
