Silence is Golden…Not a Green Light!
Getting to Know God’s Word, Part 8 Introduction The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) Everything that man needs…

The Brevity of the Scriptures
Getting to Know God’s Word, Part 7 Introduction “Okay kids, it’s time for bible study!” “Groan. The bible is too big” “It takes forever to get through it.” Does this sound familiar in your household? I’ll agree that some parts of scripture seem tedious; Leviticus springs instantly to mind. However, when you get right down…

The Bible is Enough
Introduction In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 the apostle Paul wrote, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. If Christians believe this statement; that it’s from God Himself, then…

The Best Commentary on the Bible
Getting to Know God’s Word, Part 6 Introduction As Christians develop in their walk with God, a desire to do a deeper study comes along; with a group or alone. Some will turn to commentaries for assistance as previous scholars are known to write much on the various books and verses of the bible. But…

Which Translation should I Use?
Getting to Know God’s Word, Part 3 Introduction To those who are new student to the bible, it can be very challenging to decide which translation of the scriptures to use when reading or studying. There is not any one translation that is superior to the rest as all are translated by men. None of…

Are There Vampires in the Bible?
Introduction It’s been many years since I last wrote an article like this. If you’ve ever read any of my early articles; 2002-2005, I did mostly pieces like this which were kind of goofy in nature showing the truth from scripture. The other day I was looking up an article online and, for some reason,…
