It’s Monday and that means it’s time for another bible meme!

In the interest of space in this article, I’ll not post the entirety of the meme. But this chart lists the change of people’s views towards mechanical instruments.
What I’m amused by is that by the reformation period of the 16th century, the denominational churches were completely against the use of mechanical instruments in the worship service. That proves that churches today don’t even look at their own history.
John Wesley, founder of the Methodist church, said, “I have no objections to instruments of music in our chapels, provided they are neither heard nor seen.”
John Calvin, found of the Presbyterian church, said, “Musical instruments in celebrating the praises of God would be no more suitable than the burning of incense, the lighting of lamps, and the restoration of the other shadows of the law.”
What does the bible say?
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, (Ephesians 5:19)
What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. (1 Corinthians 14:15)
saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.” (Hebrews 2:12)
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. (James 5:13)
