Not a Fairy Godmother

It’s a brand-new week! What better way to start it off then with a bible meme.

The caption reads: Stop posting memes that say, ‘Share and you’ll be blessed’. God is not your fairy godmother and that isn’t how it works.

I cannot begin to count the number of memes that tell you to share, and some spiritual event will occur. I’ve even seen people that claim to be religious post memes about obtaining luck. The idea of luck is of supernatural essence not religious. Of course, sometimes they are perceived as both.

In Acts 17, the apostle Paul was in Athens and he stated, Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious” (Acts 17:22) In the KJV it translates to, ‘too superstitious’. The gentile city was littered with pagan statues of various gods of which to worship. One in particular was labeled, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD (vs. 23) This was a catch-all idol to make sure no god was overlooked. Paul used this particular idol to preach the God of the bible and His son, Jesus.

For someone to post a meme, as above, would show that God is biased individual. If you post it, blessings. If not, nothing! The apostle Peter stated, “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.” (Acts 10:34) In Matthew 5:45, Jesus said, “…for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Stick to studying the scriptures, become a New Testament Christian, and you will have treasure in heaven (Lk. 12:33-34).
