Welcome to another Monday Bible Meme. Hot on the heels of last week’s look at “Which Jesus are you Following” we come to this meme which talks about hurt feelings…

The caption reads: It’s rude to tell me I’m wrong! That’s so Un-Christ like.
And the scripture referenced, Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. (Matthew 22:29)
Within the last four years or so, feelings have taken the forefront over everything else. If someone is told they are wrong, they need to run to a safe place with a juice box, two cookies, and a blankie and destress for a couple of hours.
Children are no longer being taught that there are right and wrong answers. They are, instead, being told that all answers are acceptable. The real world says otherwise and will not bow down to this new way of thinking.
As mentioned last week, people invent the Jesus they want to follow and completely ignore the one as seen in scriptures. Regarding the verse mentioned in today’s meme, Jesus was challenged by the Sadducees concerning the resurrection even thought they themselves do not believe it. After their question was asked, Jesus put it to them bluntly and told them they were wrong! He didn’t walk on eggshells to avoid hurt feelings; he told them what they needed to hear.
Preaching today has become an eggshell situation where no one wants to call out sin, and no one wants to point out false teachers. These so-called defenders of scripture are more concerned about keeping their jobs, and the audience happy, than saving those souls. If Jesus is willing to tell people they are wrong, we should do the same thing. Read Matthew 23 to see how Jesus handled those who were wrong.
